The Clay Block generates Vases, which are needed to complete the level goal.

First, make matches or activate power-ups next to the Block so that Vases appear from it. Each time you collect a match or activate a power-up next to the element, it shrinks by one cell, and one Vase appears.

Then, to destroy the Vases, make matches or activate power-ups next to each of them twice.
